Get Nottingham Working
Nottingham City Council and Jobcentre Plus, with funding from One Nottingham, have teamed up to Get Nottingham Working. We will be creating more opportunities for you to access employment and training, while giving you the advice and help you need to get your career back on track.
For over 12 months Nottingham City Council, through its Jobs Plan, has been supporting over 2000 citizens to find work or appropriate training to help them develop new skills.
Come and meet us in your neighbourhood!
Now, Nottingham City Council and Jobcentre Plus, with funding from One Nottingham, have teamed up to Get Nottingham Working. Building on the success of the council's Jobs Plan we will be creating more opportunities for you to access employment and training, while giving you the advice and help you need to get your career back on track.
You can come and talk to specially trained advisors and visit us as we travel around the city in our information bus.
Get Nottingham Working is all about making sure that you know what opportunities are out there. We want to give those of you who are unemployed a fresh start and renewed confidence in finding the right job, relevant training and sound advice.
Please look out for our Jobs Fair on Thursday 23 September 2010 at the Albert Hall, Nottingham.
- The Nottingham Jobs Plan
- The Future Jobs Plan - providing over 1000 paid jobs for eligible citizens particularly those aged 18-24
The Community Programme - Creating over 600 opportunities in the voluntary sector.
Public Apprenticeships - 200 apprenticeship placements within the public and voluntary sectors including 150 at Nottingham City Council.
Enterprise Programme - giving 350 people the support they need to set up their own businesses.
The FutureStore retail skills academy - a new training facility for people interested in careers in retail.

Come and meet us in your neighbourhood
The Get Nottingham Working information bus will be visiting areas of the city throughout June, July and August. If you see the bus, please come and visit it where you can find out more about what jobs are on offer, get advice about training and help with writing your CV.

The Jobs Bus is available from 10am - 3pm.
