Nottingham City Council Park Rangers hold a wide variety of events throughout the year in parks and natural sites across the city.

AUGUST
Sunday 1st August - Nature walk - Holme Pit & Clifton Grove - 10.30am

Wednesday 11th August - History walk - Woodthorpe Park - 5.00pm
Come and learn more about this fascinating site with the Park ranger and discover more about its heritage and some of its unique features.
Meet at Woodthorpe Grange main entrance.
Saturday 21st August - Guided tree tour – Arboretum - 11.00am
Come and discover this impressive collection of trees at Nottingham's first public park. This trail takes you on a walk around the Arboretum, and explores some of the significant trees which have been planted here over time. Meet at the Waverley street entrance by the lodge.
Sunday 29th August - Nature walk - Martins Pond, Harrisons Plantation & Raleigh Pond - 10.30am

Monday 13th September - Bat walk - Colwick Park - 7.00pm

Saturday 2nd Area 6 Nature Conservation day 10.00am – 2.00pm
Volunteer with the Park Rangers to help improve and enhance your area's Parks and Nature reserves for wildlife. Tasks may involve coppicing, path improvements and habitat creation.
You can help out just for an hour or all day depending on what suits you.
Please call the Parks and Open Spaces team on (0115) 9152733 to volunteer yourself and for details of the site to be worked on or to suggest a site that needs work.
Saturday 9th October - Junior Rangers - Woodthorpe Park - 10.00 – 11.30am
Come along and take part in a morning of fun outdoor activities learning all there is to know about being a park ranger. Activities are more suited to ages 5 – 11.
Meet outside the main house by the notice boards.

Wednesday 27th October - Halloween fun - Vernon Park - 2.00 – 4.00pm
Scare yourself silly at this frightfully fun day in the park. Take part in gruesome games, ghoulish goings on and frightful frolics at the Rangers' annual Halloween afternoon.
Activities take place in and around the pavilion.
